South Lake Tahoe STR Ordinance
Vacation rentals in South Lake Tahoe are limited to certain zones only and required to have a permit. Vacation rentals are also required to meet occupancy limits, safety requirements, advertising requirements, good neighbor policies, and other provisions.
South Lake Tahoe Lodging Taxes
Vacation rentals in South Lake Tahoe are subject to a Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT) of 10% (or 12% at specific redevelopment properties.) SLT also imposes a Tourism Improvement District fee of $5.50 per night for agent-managed vacation home rentals.
