Rent Responsibly is an education and community-building platform for short-term rental alliances and operators. We help owners, hosts, and managers navigate their local laws, professionalize their hospitality businesses, and rent responsibly.

The Community Support Coordinator will play a central role in the effectiveness and ultimate success of Rent Responsibly. With a sharp focus on the daily management of alliance support services and the tools and processes behind them, you’ll be the dependable backbone for our clients by ensuring all alliance projects, campaigns, tasks, and timelines run like clockwork.

The Community Support Coordinator will report to the Director of Alliance Operations. This full-time, remote (US-based) position will start in September 2024.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Association Management: Work closely with numerous association clients to understand their needs and provide consistent support across all communications and activities.
  • Website Updates: Conduct basic website updates, including adding posts and other relevant information.
  • Member Portal Updates: Manage and update content in alliances’ member portals, including adding posts, scheduling and promoting webinars, and ensuring members can access the latest information and resources.
  • Event Logistics:
    • Support the planning and execution of alliance webinars and events, including the preparation of content.
    • Assist with the technical aspects of running virtual events.
  • Email Campaigns:
    • Assist in the development and execution of email campaigns.
    • Help create and manage templated campaigns, such as membership launches, ensuring consistency and timeliness.
    • Repurpose email campaigns into social media-friendly content
  • Graphic Design: Create visually appealing graphics using Canva for various purposes, including event promotions, social media posts, and email campaigns.
  • Basic Membership Transaction Support:
    • Issue membership renewal cancellations.
    • Issue membership account activation reminders.

Qualifications:

  • You’re comfortable working with startups and small, fast-moving teams. You’re not shy about stepping into an evolving role and are excited about building the role as we go.
  • You love marking things off your to-do list. Everything you check off meets your high standards of quality, but you don’t let perfection get in the way of a deadline.
  • You are a solid, reliable, self-managed doer. People have confidence that if you are accountable for something, you will get it done without being reminded, and nothing will fall through the cracks.
  • Your communication is impeccable. People rarely misunderstand what you’re telling or asking of them, and you interact fluently and patiently with others with different communication styles than you.
  • You sometimes enjoy playing a coach-like role and spotting opportunities to offer advice or guidance to clients. Similarly, you’re tech-savvy but comfortable working and supporting those who are not.
  • You don’t shy away from making processes more efficient or creating new processes from scratch when needed.
  • You don’t mind recurring tasks and projects and relish the opportunity to improve them with each iteration.
  • You are adept at managing your time. You love task batching, creating and using templates, and optimizing your workday, but you can juggle projects and shuffle priorities flexibly.
  • If you’ve ever taken a DISC assessment, you probably score higher in the C and S qualities.
  • Even if high school civics wasn’t your thing, you’re excited to explore new subjects and learn how the sausage gets made in local and state government.
  • You’re OK with and even excited to step outside your comfort zone.
  • You’re a team player. When another teammate needs help, or there’s an all-hands-on-deck situation, you’re the first to raise your hand.

What It’s Like to Work for Rent Responsibly

Rent Responsibly is a 100% remote team. We collaborate daily through Slack, Zoom, and Google Workspace. We don’t measure our days from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. but through productivity and execution. Our teammates must be self-directed and have (or be able to create) the ideal remote work environment for themselves.

We are a small but nimble and enthusiastic team, so those who are willing to jump in with both feet on team projects, wear multiple hats, and then switch those hats on the fly will be happiest here. We invest in our teammates’ growth, too, including professional development resources and opportunities to take on higher roles as the company grows.

To Apply:

Send an email to our Director of Alliance Operations at hiring@rentresponsibly.org with your resume attached. Tell us why your experience, skills, and qualities make you a good fit for this role, share what you like most about our mission, and provide links/attachments to three things you have produced that showcase your skills. (Please limit any Canva or other graphic design examples to only one of the three samples.)

Form letters and applications that do not follow this process will be ignored, but all genuine applicants will receive a response.
