ORDINANCE STATUS: IN EFFECT
The City of Tempe requires short-term rentals to register with the city so that owners or representatives can be contacted in the event of an emergency or code violation.
In Tempe if a rental property is not registered with Maricopa County Assessor, it is a $1,000 fine from the code enforcement unit.
AZ Transaction Privilege Tax
All short-term rental owners in Arizona are required to hold a TPT license (Transaction Privilege Tax) in order to operate.
Maricopa County Rental Registration
All rentals of any length are required to register with the Maricopa County Assessor’s office.
