About the Report
Rent Responsibly partnered with the College of Charleston and the Riley Center for Livable Communities on this first-of-its-kind research initiative.
In Phase I, researchers conducted in-depth interviews with municipal staff from markets around the US to understand their unique needs, challenges, and perspectives.
In Phase II, we surveyed 4,500+ STR owners and operators to:
- Quantify the benefits STRs have on their communities
- Distill challenges in complying with local regulations
- Uncover solutions for effective STR management
This critical research helped uncover missing links between STRs and their local governments, spotlight data and solutions that can drive more effective regulatory outcomes, and generate other insights to ultimately create stronger, more harmonious STR communities everywhere.
