Challenges make you discover things about yourself that you never really knew.

— Cicely Tyson

In reflecting on our past January issues of this newsletter, a thread has emerged. We’re not fans of vague, non-actionable resolutions, but boy, do we love the sense of resolution – of having resolve, of being resolute – that a new year brings.

But getting going and keeping going requires maintaining that resolve in the face of a challenge. As Cicely Tyson said, this is where we discover new things about ourselves.

Team RR loves a good challenge, and we’ve each started the year resolute in the challenges we’ve set for ourselves, both professional and personal:

  • Welcoming new members to the RR Network (join free or log in here to say hi! >)
  • Supplying readers like you with new resources every week (tell us what you’d like to see in this quick survey >)
  • Taking regular moments for reflection and restoration to support the long-term health of ourselves, our company, and the STR community
  • Conducting new industry research to help hosts and policymakers make informed decisions (Interested in sponsoring our upcoming study? Chat with Dave >)
  • Setting personal reading and running records
  • Renovating our homes and helping STR hosts upgrade theirs for today’s travel landscape

What challenge have you set for yourself this year, and what do you hope to discover about yourself in its pursuit? Join the discussion on this topic inside the RR Network! >
